Colorado Wedding and Portrait Photographer - Jennifer Schumacher Photography bio picture

Welcome!

My mission is to celebrate life's special moments by focusing on the love and relationships and to create a legacy for future generations.

My passion is weddings.

A photography session with me is about having fun and being you.  My style combines casually posed photography with thoughtful candids.  Behind my camera I look for flashes of authentic emotion and connections between people.  In front of my camera I want you to relax and have fun.

This blog records my photography and a little bit of my life too.  I believe getting to know you only enhances the images so write a comment or send me an email.  Here are a few tidbits about me:

I love my husband. I love chocolate peanut butter ice cream. I can’t watch a movie without popcorn. I grew up in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. I love living in Colorado. I am a wine snob. I love to explore new places.  I lived in DC for 5 years. I have the best dog ever.

Boulder Engagement Photos {Colorado Wedding Photography}

I had the pleasure of getting to know Tony and Shurie this weekend at their engagement session.  Their passion and joy for each other was evident from the first photos we took.

I met Tony and Shurie through Laurie at Estes Park Wedding and Event Planners.  Their wedding is this September in Estes Park, Colorado.

Della Terra Wedding

We met in Boulder, these are only a few of my favorite photos.  My goals during an engagement session are to get to know my couple, have fun and document their relationship.  Tony and Shurie are an example of a dream client for us.  They love to laugh and were such fun to work with.  Steve and I didn’t have to pull out our corny jokes to loosen them up, they were ready to have fun.

All of the rain we’ve been having this year created a gorgeous, green meadow for us but it has also increased the mosquito population to levels I haven’t seen since I left Florida.  We were all slapping bugs but Tony and Shurie were wonderful and endured the attacks.  Thank you so much - I will be adding bug spray to my emergency bag.

I asked them to take a twirl.  Their first dance photos are going to be fun.

Congratulations Tony and Shurie! (and Happy Birthday Shurie)  I’m looking forward to your Colorado wedding at Della Terra Mountian Chateau in September.

Boudoir Photos

Celebrating petite women and helping them feel sexy, sophisticated and beautiful - that was the idea behind my last photography session with Kristin of LoveStruck Lingerie.

I was so happy to meet Kristin.  She is starting a new business that provides lingerie for petite women and needed photos of her products that matched the brand she is creating.  We met to discuss her vision and when Kristin said to me  “The driving concept behind my company is to make petite women feel beautiful, sexy, and gorgeous in their own skin, just the way their bodies are.”  I knew we would have a great relationship.

We created catalog photos of the lingerie and some artistic photos to decorate her website.  As soon as Kristin’s website is up and running I will share the link.  Here are some of the artistic photos of Michelle modeling the lingerie.  The pieces Kristin chose are just gorgeous - I can’t wait to share the full catalog with you.

I love June because the wildflowers are blooming.  And when I found out Christy’s color is yellow I had to get these beautiful yellow flowers.

Back from vacation

I am back from a quick vacation in Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton.  It was a fantastic trip and I’ll share more soon.  I am catching up from last week and getting ready for some photo sessions this week.  Watch the blog for some boudoir and engagement photos.  Here is an image of the Northern entrance to Yellowstone from Gardiner, MT.  It rained a lot during the trip but rain brings rainbows…

Lost Antler Ranch Engagement Preview

I’m on vacation this week but I had to post a quick preview from Christy and Bill’s Lost Antler Ranch engagement session. Even though this image is a ring shot  and they are the background I loved the way Christy was looking at Bill.  They were adorable and so in love and I cannot wait to show you more.   Watch the blog next week.

Lost Antler Ranch - Estes Park Mountain Getaway

Steve, Sparky and I hung out at Lost Antler Ranch in Estes Park this weekend.  What a hidden gem!  The ranch is on 165 acres completely surrounded by Rocky Mountain National Park and national forest.  The location is completely secluded yet only minutes from Estes Park.  With gorgeous surroundings and a friendly staff,  Lost Antler Ranch is the perfect location for weddings, family reunions, or corporate retreats.

Lost Antler Ranch is comprised of 5 Buildings: The Lake House, The Lodge, The Cabin, The Meadow House and a Conference Room and Home theater and can sleep up to 50 people.

The Lake House is right on a gorgeous mountain lake and can sleep 10 people.

This next photo was taken from a meadow.  The lake house is on the left and the lodge is on the right.  The lake is on the other side of these building.  The meadow I am standing in and to camera left is one of the many options Lost Antler Ranch offers for your wedding or retreat.

Colorado Corporate Retreat

The cabin sleeps 2 and is a secluded retreat for you and your new husband.

The Meadow House can sleep 18 people and has enough space inside for a small wedding reception.  The outside patio has spectacular views.

The final building is Steve’s favorite.  This converted barn houses a state-of-the-art media center for meeting presentations, old family videos, or wedding slide show.

Sparky approves of Lost Antler Ranch and gives it 5 tail wags (on a scale of 5).
