Senior Photos in Colorado

I love Colorado.  There are so many beautiful places to photograph the problem is picking one spot.  When I met Andrew for his senior photos he already had the perfect spot picked out and it was right out his front door.  I love it when my clients incorporate personal places and items in their photos and this place was very special to Andrew.

Colorado High School Senior

When I mentioned bringing a special item along for the photos I was thinking sports uniforms or musical instruments but Andrew interrupted my suggestion a little deeper and had his girlfriend, Candra, join us.  I’d say that is a very special item…

Andrew’s family just adopted an adorable little puppy so we had to get some photos of the newest family member.

Andrew’s mom took advantage of Andrew’s high school senior photos and included a family portrait session so stay tuned for more photos of the whole family.

Red Rocks Engagement Photos

Steve and I had the pleasure of photographing Brittany and Josh’s engagement last week.  We found a lovely place in Roxborough State Park with breathtaking Colorado red rocks for the backgrounds.  Our favorite couples are laid back, up for a little adventure and love to laugh and Brittany and Josh were perfect.   Here are a few of my favorite images.

This last photo is totally a snapshot but we had to act quickly to get the herd of deer that walked right past us.  I had to post this because I was amazed at how close they got to us.   I love Colorado.

We enjoyed working with you Brittany and Josh and we are looking forward to your wedding this summer.

Nicole and Gavin are Married

The first wedding of the year is always a welcome time.  I didn’t realize how much I missed weddings until Nicole opened the hotel room door. Nicole and Gavin were married at the Three Tress Chapel in Littleton.  Three Trees Chapel is a charming place and Nicole and Gavin were a joy to work with.  Here are my favorite photographs from their wedding.

Engagement Photos at Wild Basin Lodge

When a place is beautiful for a wedding chances are it is also a great place to take engagement photos. And this weekend I was very grateful to Allison and Marc at Wild Basin Lodge in Allenspark  for allowing us to use their gorgeous lodge and meadow for Karin and Dan’s engagement photos. It was a little windy and cold so having the cozy lodge with a roaring fireplace was very welcome – oh, and the hot cocoa helped too. But the winds didn’t last long and it turned into a breathtaking and warm afternoon. Steve and I had so much fun with Karin and Dan we cannot wait for their wedding. And I cannot wait to tell you the story behind the little chapel they chose for their wedding – but you have to wait until the Fall to get that story…

On to the images…

The happy family.  Yes, I love them more because they brought Kona along.  Kona was very instrumental in the actual engagement.  Dan slipped the ring onto Kona’s collar for Karin to discover.  So we had to have Kona join us.

Kona just loved the snow.  I think Karin and Dan are holding his head up because he just wanted to roll in the snow.

Thank you for playing along and frolicking in the meadow.  There are so many beautiful spots at Wild Basin.

Wedding Album

Your wedding album is your first family heirloom and an item you really deserve.  A good album design will tell the story of your wedding and be a book you can go back to time and time again to relive your beautiful marriage.

I wanted to share Chase and Ashlee’s wedding album.

wedding album

Ashley and Chase chose an elegant black leather album with a cameo on the cover.  This style is simply classic and timeless.

This is the storybook style album where the photos are mounted flush to the ends on a rigid board to provide strength and durability.  The pages open flat so you can view the entire image.

They preferred an album design with images faded in the background to add color and texture to the pages.   Click here to see all of the layouts: http://www.jenniferschumacherphotography.com/albums/ChaseandAshlee/

The wedding was held at Stone Mountain Lodge in Lyons, CO.
