Rockin out at RockyGrass

Steve and I had a fantastic time at RockyGrass this year.  We always enjoy being concert photographers at Planet Bluegrass.  Our goal is to get crowd shots and photos that tell the story of a day at Planet Bluegrass.

Lots of dancing going on…

Planet Bluegrass is definitely one of the greenest concert venues around.

If you missed RockyGrass you still have time to go to Folks Festival.  It is August 14-16.

Brittany and Josh Got Married {Colorado Wedding Photographer}

Steve and I loved Josh and Brittany’s Colorado wedding.  We traveled to Southeastern Colorado to attend their wedding.  Brittany’s mom is a very talented photographer and it is a huge honor to be chosen to photograph a wedding by another photographer.

These photos are just the highlights of the day.  The wedding was full of beauty, elegance and loving warmth.   Steve is still raving about the Texas BBQ Josh’s mom flew in from Austin.  Stay tuned for the wedding slideshow for the complete story.

Colorado Bride Getting Ready

I love the moment mom realizes her baby is a bride.

Gorgeous calla lilies.

Steve took this adorable photo of the grandparents.

Brittany decorated the ceremony with candlelight which made such an impact in this little church.

I was being all stealthy and ninja like taking photos from the back of the church and in the hallway when this little future photographer walked right in front of me and got this fantastic angle.  He sat down in the same spot I was sitting moments before.

I think this one is my favorite photo  from the wedding day.

I liked this one too.

A few portraits of the couple.  They were so happy together and Brittany’s smile was dazzling.

We snuck Brittany and Josh out of the reception and to the railroad tracks for some creative photos before sunset.  Their reception was held in an old train station.

I have never seen candles on the wedding cake before but I thought it was beautiful.

Brittany changed into her party dress for the reception.

Brittany and Josh left the reception through a cloud of bubbles. (I loved that Brittany was barefoot – who needs uncomfortable shoes)

Congratulations Josh and Brittany!  It was a pleasure working with you.  We wish you much happiness.  The slideshow and online gallery will be ready soon.

Wedding Color Chart

Taking a break from editing  wedding photos…  It’s amazing the amout of inspiration out there.  One shop I love is Paper Source – it’s a great source for creative ideas for stationary and favors for your wedding or social events.  They posted a fun Colorscope that tells you how the colors you choose reflect your personality.  I found the description of the main colors I choose to represent JSP interesting.

Bluebell:  You have a classic style, are a romantic, easy to love, and people find you appealing.  Some may think of you as quiet, but you are really thinking deeply about what is going on around you, and then coming up with the perfect solution.

Chocolate: You are down to earth, comfortable with who you are and have a great ability to find joy in life.  You don’t take things personally, you rebound from failure, and go for what you want.

That describes my wishes for the business well.  Maybe the colors you are drawn to do say something.  Check out the colorscope and see what your colors say about you and your event.

I originally saw this on Pretty Obsessed.  Thank you for the inspiration.
