Estes Park Wedding Reception

JSP brides and grooms are awesome.  I love each and every couple. They come up with the best weddings that are full of love and fun.  Nick and Amelia contacted me to photograph their wedding reception at Mary’s Lake Lodge in Estes Park.  They had eloped in Hawaii (I still don’t know why they didn’t take me to Hawaii with them to photograph the ceremony) and were having a wedding reception in Estes Park with their families.  Weddings with personal touches are my favorite and since Amelia’s heritage is Middle Eastern she really took advantage of this and created a unique celebration.

First some wedding portraits complimented by the stunning Estes Park scenery…

Amelia and Nick did a spectacular job decorating the Grand Room of Mary’s Lake Lodge.  The fabric and bright colors created a wonderful atmosphere.  Delilah’s of Denver provided the flowers and design.

No wedding cake for Nick and Amelia instead they had wedding baklava!

The henna on Amelia was beautiful.

Nick’s brother in law joined the Jason Boyer Jazz trio to play the trumpet.

I love a good spontaneous wedding toast.

And now the entertainment – A Belly Dancer!  I have never been to a wedding with a belly dancer and I was so looking forward to photographing this.

When she pulled out the sword Nick joined in and balanced the sword quite well I must say.

Amelia changed into a party dress for the dancing and the pictures confirm everyone thought she looked beautiful.

One final photo of Nick and Amelia enjoying their party.

Thank you Nick and Amelia for inviting me to photograph your wedding reception.  I enjoyed getting to know you and look forward to seeing you again.  Friends and Family can pre-register to see the entire photo gallery here:  Nick and Amelia Wedding Photos

Unique Wedding Idea

My wedding couples are too cool.  They always surprise me with the creative, unique and personal ideas they incorporate into their weddings.  I was so looking forward to last weekend at Nick and Amelia’s wedding reception.  I must say this one was a first – a belly dancer entertained the guests during the reception at Mary’s Lake Lodge in Estes Park.   I’ve never been to a wedding with a belly dancer and I had so much fun photographing this.  For now, I’ll share a sneak peak photo.  Watch the blog tomorrow for more…

Lifestyle Pet Photography

A new offering here at JSP is the Pets and their People photography sessions.  While  I’ve always included four legged friends in family portraits and several of you have found me because of my love for animals,   I created this session as a way to celebrate our pets and their unique relationships with us.  On a Pets and their People session I work in the natural,  unposed way I usually do except the focus of this session is your pets and their relationships with you.  The goal is to record your pets personality and the love they share with your family.

Denver Engagement Photos

Steve and I met Amelia, Nick, Leroy and Jack at Washington Park in Denver last weekend for their engagement photos.  I was happy to meet this entire family and enjoyed hanging out with Amelia and Nick in SOBO for drinks and appetizers after the photos were complete. We found out Nick and Steve both grew up near Baltimore and shared lots of opinions on seafood.  We will definitely be inviting  you to our Maryland crab fest this summer.   I’m looking forward seeing Amelia and Nick again at their wedding at Mary’s Lake Lodge in Estes Park.  Stay turned to the blog – this wedding will have a belly dancer…

Leroy and Jack may look like they are posing for me but they are actually staring down a duck or goose.

This next one is my favorite.

Thank you for meeting us in Denver.  I am looking forward to your Estes Park wedding reception.
