Fall Engagement in Estes Park

Aspens in all their Fall glory and a beautiful couple made this engagement perfect.  Despite a rain storm right when we were scheduled to begin Serena and Luke hid under the pavilion with me and waited for the Colorado weather to change.  And the saying was right – wait 20 minutes and the weather will change.  We went from a downpour to bright blue skies and rainbows.  I was so excited to see the Aspen in Estes Park changing to their Fall yellows. Fall is my favorite time for photos and Serena and Luke were so much fun to work with.  My favorite photos are below.

Thank you for braving the rain with me.  I enjoyed our time in the park together.  Serena and Luke are getting married next May.  Enjoy this time together planning your wedding – it will be beautiful.

St. Malo and YMCA of the Rockies Wedding

Part II of Anji and Mikes’ Estes Park wedding.  The reception was held at the YMCA of the Rockies.  This wedding was full of music and joy.  It started with the choir at the ceremony and ended with a dance floor full of family and friends.  A photographers dream – twinkle lights at the reception – they add a fun element to the photos and a little extra light and ambiance.  Any extra lighting at the reception is usually OK with me.

You’ll notice a lot of photos of Anji smiling.

Yummy cupcakes.

They set up a bonfire on the back porch  and roasted marshmallows outside.

Here is the slide show with their wedding story.

Elements of Anji and Mike’s wedding:

Ceremony:  St. Malo Chapel

Reception:  YMCA of the Rockies

Flowers:  Oxford Farms Boulder

Cupcakes:  Costco

I saved my favorite detail of Anji and Mikes’ wedding for the end.  A place card and table setting just for Steve and I.  Anji and Mike thought of us as guests at their wedding and I was so touched.

Thank you for having Steve and I photograph your wedding.  We loved working with you and look forward to many years of friendship.

St. Malo Wedding

Here is Part 1 of Mike and Anji’s Estes Park wedding.  I loved too much about this wedding so I am splitting it into 2 posts.  Today the wedding ceremony at St. Malo Chapel.  Later this week the reception at the YMCA of the Rockies.

Anji and Mike were simply a fun couple to work with.  Always ready to laugh and enjoy – even if the estes park winds were blowing and we had to take most of the photos inside or protected from the wind.  But St. Malo was so beautiful and unique we got lots of  great images.   The winds calmed down for the reception so we got a lot more photos outside with the mountains later.  I’ll show you those in part two.

St. Malo is a chapel built out of a stone – soo cool.

Anji and Mike decided to do a first look before the ceremony.  St. Malo is such a beautiful little church with some nice photo opportunities.  I especially loved the stained glass windows.

I love it when my couples do personal things at their wedding.  Anji and Mike created an alter with items that had special meaning for them.  Here are a few of those items being presented by people they love – a scarf from Anji’s grandmother, flowers in an Izzie bottle, hiking boots and a crucifix.

The guests said a blessing for Anji and Mike.

Bubble exit!!

Stay tuned later this week for the reception at the YMCA of the Rockies and the slideshow.

Intimate Estes Park Wedding

I had so much fun photographing Sabrina and Vince’s intimate Estes Park wedding at Marys Lake Lodge.  There were only 10 guests present to witness their marriage, and I got so many loving moments.   Sabrina had wonderful style  – every detail was beautiful.  Vince’s parents flew in from Italy for the ceremony and everything had to be translated to Italian for them.  My favorite images are here and the slideshow at the end.

A beautiful wedding gown on the patio of the lodge room and sexy pink shoes.

Meghan at The Enchanted Florist did a fantastic job.  Isn’t Sabrina’s bouquet gorgeous???

Sabrina looking amazing…

Again, kudos to Meghan at Enchanted Florist for this fabulous wedding arch.  The ceremony spot at Marys Lake Lodge is up on a small hill and surrounded by Colorado  Mountains.

Dick Orleans was amazing on the guitar at the ceremony and reception.

My favorite family portrait with Dixie and her mom and dad.

Sabrina did a fantastic job decorating the reception table.  She hand made the place cards in clay and hand stamped each guest name.  And each place setting had a special item chosen for that guest.  This setting had a dragonfly.

Yummy and beautiful wedding cake from Colorado Rose Cake Company.

I loved this moment between Sabrina and her new father in law.  Even though they don’t share a common language the love was evident.

There are so many more moments I can’t post them all.  To see the entire story of Vince and Sabrina’s wedding view the slideshow:

Thank you Sabrina and Vince for inviting me to photograph your beautiful and elegant wedding.

Boulder Wedding at Folsom Field: Breanne and Nate

Breanne and Nate had such a gorgeous wedding in Boulder.  The wedding ceremony was held in The First United Methodist Church in Boulder and the reception at the Stadium Club at Folsom Field.   They met at CU so where else would they get married??  Nate even proposed in front of Ralphie.  My favorite part was the classic Ford car they used (watch the slideshow for lots more photos of this beauty).  Here are my favorite photos from this Boulder wedding.  The slide show is at the end.

Breanne looking amazing.

Getting creative with the ring shot.

The guys in front of the church.

Isn’t the inside of the First United Methodist Church beautiful?  I loved the organ and Breanne’s cousin playing the piano made a cool photo.

I love pink roses.

Gorgeous pink wedding cake from das Meyer.  It was yummy strawberry shortcake too.

Breanne and her dad were so cute.
