Candace and Klas are getting married this Fall at Fort Collins Country Club and I am so looking forward to seeing them again. We met in Estes Park for their engagement photos and enjoyed walking around Lily Lake and just having fun.

I loved the mysterious cowboy look Klas had going on.

Estes Park Engagement

Steve and I met Anji and Mike in Estes Park for their engagement photos. I love couples that smile and laugh a lot and Anji and Mike were so much fun to work with. We took a walk around the lake and stopped to take some photos here and there. Estes Park is so beautiful and I’m looking forward to their wedding at St Malo and the YMCA of the Rockies this fall.

I got to spend a beautiful Colorado summer afternoon with one of my awesome wedding couples. I met Aaron and Sierra in Loveland for their engagement photo session. They are getting married at the lovely Della Terra Mountain Chateau in Estes Park and I cannot wait for their wedding. The whole family tagged along for this photo session so we got a couple images with Aaron’s daughter and the dogs too. Enjoy the preview photos!

Denver Engagement Photos

Steve and I met Amelia, Nick, Leroy and Jack at Washington Park in Denver last weekend for their engagement photos. I was happy to meet this entire family and enjoyed hanging out with Amelia and Nick in SOBO for drinks and appetizers after the photos were complete. We found out Nick and Steve both grew up near Baltimore and shared lots of opinions on seafood. We will definitely be inviting you to our Maryland crab fest this summer. I’m looking forward seeing Amelia and Nick again at their wedding at Mary’s Lake Lodge in Estes Park. Stay turned to the blog – this wedding will have a belly dancer…

Leroy and Jack may look like they are posing for me but they are actually staring down a duck or goose.

Boulder Engagement: Wedding at CU

I met Breanne and Nate at the CU campus for their engagement photos. I love when my couples incorporate personal things into their photos. Breanne and Nate meet at CU and it is where Nate proposed AND they are having their wedding reception at Folsom Field. I really enjoy getting to know my couples during their engagement photos – it reminds me why I love my job.

Engagement Photos Ft. Collins

Engagement season has begun…. Steve and I met Thad and Jill in Ft. Collins this weekend for a fun engagement photo session. I love getting to know my couples during their engagement session – and they always pick the prettiest places. Thad and Jill are getting married at Aspen Lodge for a gorgeous Estes Park wedding. I cannot wait to get them into the aspen groove there.

Engagement sessions are also opportunities to test out new gear. I was using my new Nikon 24-70 2.8 lens so lots of wide angle shot of beautiful Colorado landscapes. I’m liking how sharp and crisp this lens is…

I’m always open for input from the couple for fun photos. Thad wanted to jump so we got a bunch of funny images.

Spring is in the air and warm weather and colorful spring blooms means my schedule is filling with engagement and family photo sessions. The most popular question is what to wear to your photography session. The key is to coordinate not play matching games. To look stylish and put together choose a color palette that matches the season or, if you plan to decorate with wall portraits, your home decor and select clothing with texture and classic patterns to create timeless images. Snow Day in Lyons

It was a snow day in Colorado and Pat and Carey scheduled a portrait session in Lyons. We had fun exploring the winter wonderland around Lyons with their dogs Bella and Hondo. We got some very cute photos for their holiday cards. These are my favorite photos.

The dogs had a blast in the snow and they posed so nicely for me.

I am asked all of the time what to wear to a photography session. The key is to coordinate not play matching games. To look stylish and put together choose a color palette that matches the season or your home decor and select clothing with texture and classic patterns to create timeless images. Here are two Fall fashion guides for some inspiration. Families are pictured but these can be applied for engaged couples a well.

Mark and Jamie: Loveland Engagement

I met Mark and Jamie at Sylvandale Guest Ranch in Loveland for their engagement photos. I loved this first image. I asked Jamie and Mark to snuggle in close and close their eyes. Then I asked them to think about the wedding day and the commitment they were about to make. I got these adorable little smiles from both of them. Don’t they look so calm and relaxed too – like they could melt into each other?

This photo was the aftermath of a “twirl”. Just that happy and in love image I am always on the look out for.
