Wish Upon a Wedding

It’s National Raise Awareness Week! And, I am pleased to support a new not for profit Wish Upon a Wedding.

From their website:

Wish Upon a Wedding grants wedding and civil union ceremonies for adults with terminal illnesses, at destinations across the United States. With our headquarters located in the San Francisco Bay Area, and a nationwide network of volunteers and supporters, we serve those in the greatest need around the country. We receive no state or federal funding, relying instead on the generosity of our supporters to fulfill Wish requests.  Wish Upon a Wedding was founded in San Francisco, CA, in January of 2010. America’s ONLY wedding wish granting organization, WUW will begin accepting applications for wishes on February 14, 2010. WUW anticipates granting dozens of wishes per year, with the possibility of that number turning into hundreds.

Praise

I sheepishly admit one of my goals is to make my brides and moms cry when they view the images from their wedding or family portraits.  I consider it the highest praise I can get.  The images touched them so much they cried tears of  joy.   Well a card arrived today and one of my brides just made me cry.  Dave and Suzanne’s heartfelt thank you touched me and now I guess I have a new goal.

Wedding Color Chart

Taking a break from editing  wedding photos…  It’s amazing the amout of inspiration out there.  One shop I love is Paper Source – it’s a great source for creative ideas for stationary and favors for your wedding or social events.  They posted a fun Colorscope that tells you how the colors you choose reflect your personality.  I found the description of the main colors I choose to represent JSP interesting.

Bluebell:  You have a classic style, are a romantic, easy to love, and people find you appealing.  Some may think of you as quiet, but you are really thinking deeply about what is going on around you, and then coming up with the perfect solution.

Chocolate: You are down to earth, comfortable with who you are and have a great ability to find joy in life.  You don’t take things personally, you rebound from failure, and go for what you want.

That describes my wishes for the business well.  Maybe the colors you are drawn to do say something.  Check out the colorscope and see what your colors say about you and your event.
