Colorado Wedding and Portrait Photographer – Jennifer Schumacher Photography bio picture
  • Welcome!

    Welcome to my little space here on the world wide web. If you are looking for wedding photography that focuses on the people, the relationships and the little details that make your day unique keep reading.

    Jennifer Schumacher Photography has been described as inviting a close family member to take your wedding photos - except that person has skill with professional camera equipment. I am a photographer that takes the time to get to know you and has a sense for being in the right place to photograph all of the moments that will bring your wedding back to life everytime you look at the images.

    So grab a cup of coffee, tea or my favorite champagne and look through my portfolio and blog. Most of the moments you see here are not staged, this is what happened as it happened.

Moments to Remember {26}

This moment is from May of this year.  I am working on Christy and Phil’s wedding album so it is fresh on my mind.  They had an intimate ceremony at Wild Basin Lodge in Estes Park – only 20 guests – so this was such a heartfelt wedding.  This quick glance between Christy’s parent while Phile and Chrsity were exchanging vows just oozes of love and price and happiness.

Moments to Remember {25}

As a wedding photographer I am witness to so many wonderful things.  This moment to remember is from Candace and Klaus’ wedding at Ft. Collins Country Club.  After all the first dances were done Candace’s parents announced a special gift.  They had resolved years of differences and got together to dance at Candace’s wedding.  This wasn’t just a dance but a choreographed swing dance that they had to practice before hand.  This moment is Candace and Klaus watching their surprise present.  It is amazing how weddings bring everyone together in love and celebration for the newly weds.  It is such a special event and I am honored to be included.

Moments to Remember {24}

This moment is from Dave and Suzanne’s California wine country wedding.  I was riding in the limo with the girls.  This is just such a natural laugh – it is one of my favorite photos.  Especially since I know Suzanne was having a stressful morning getting ready.  Everything turned out beautiful and I think this is where she started to relax and enjoy.

High School Seniors

Milestones.  That is what I record and what milestone is more intimidating than High School Senior portraits?  Moving from childhood to adulthood is so full of promise – but so stressful.  Deciding on a college and a major and making decisions that will effect the rest of your life – but still trying to enjoy your final year of high school when everyone is asking what you will be studying….  I don’t miss that but I love photographing seniors.  They are so full of hope and joy at the coming school year.  Here are a few photos of Gaby.  She loves flowers (which I was ecstatic to get her in the wildflower fields).  She is from Guatemala and that colorful quilt is from her home country.  She likes to be barefoot so I had to invite her to wade in the lake.  I wish we  had more time to play a little more in the water.

Congratulations on your final year of  high school Gaby.  I hope all your dreams come true.

Moments to Remember {23}

This week’s moment to remember is from Danielle and Michael’s beautiful wedding at the Denver Botanic Gardens.  This image always makes me smile – not only because Danielle and Michael are so cute and in love but I remember what happened as we took this photo.  Danielle and Michael had asked me to spend an hour exploring the gardens with them after their wedding ceremony.  We were walking around taking a ton of fun photos and I saw this hill with the perfect blue sky so I had them walk to the top of the hill and pose for me.  Right as I was about to take the picture two little heads appeared on the horizon -I didn’t know but there were a ton of people laying on the grass enjoying the summer sun on the other side of the hill.  Two people noticed the bride and groom on top of the hill and sat up to see them.  From my perspective it was like that video game where you use the mallet to hit the heads of the hedge hogs that pop out of the holes. The sun bathers laid back down when we asked and I got a little laugh.
