Moments to Remember {1}

A new blog feature here at JSP the moments to remember. Each week I will select an image from my archives and feature it on the blog. I’ll then explain my thought process as I recorded the moment. My hope is to share how much thought and preparation goes into each image from your wedding and why I love what I do.

Kids are a joy to photograph but usually they become “hams” for the camera and I don’t like fake smiles and overly posed photos so finding them when they are being themselves and don’t know you are taking their photo is a treat. This first moment to remember was taken during Colleen and Dan’s wedding. All the girls were in the back room of St. Joseph’s church while Colleen prepared for her ceremony. In the bride’s dressing room there is typically a wonderful window and I will position myself with the window behind me to let the soft window light fill the room and light the people naturally. I chose this particular spot to take advantage of the mirror behind my bride. Colleen had just finished dressing and was handed her bouquet. While everyone was complimenting her on how beautiful she looked the little flower girl moved into this perfect place to admire Colleen. You can just see the wedding dreams starting to form in her face as Colleen turned to look at her. This photo is an especially special memory for Colleen as the little flower girl is Dan’s little sister – her new sister in law.

Boulder Wedding at Folsom Field: Breanne and Nate

Breanne and Nate had such a gorgeous wedding in Boulder. The wedding ceremony was held in The First United Methodist Church in Boulder and the reception at the Stadium Club at Folsom Field. They met at CU so where else would they get married?? Nate even proposed in front of Ralphie. My favorite part was the classic Ford car they used (watch the slideshow for lots more photos of this beauty). Here are my favorite photos from this Boulder wedding. The slide show is at the end.

Wedding Album

Wedding photography is the promise of remembering your wedding day forever and your wedding album is the most elegant way to preserve your memories. I received Sean and Jocelyn’s wedding album and it turned out gorgeous. This album is a 10×10 pearl leather with 30 pages. The leather is so silky soft and the metal print on the front is stunning. I have a copy to use as my sample album so come and see me to touch and feel this exquisite album. JSP wedding albums are flush mount which means the photos cover the entire page. For wedding albums we only use photographic paper (not press printed). The prints are mounted on a rigid board and a coating is applied to protect the photos.

All album designs are created by me and I don’t like to be boxed in by templates so every album is a unique work of art. Here are a few of my favorite layouts from this album.
