Candace and Klas are getting married this Fall at Fort Collins Country Club and I am so looking forward to seeing them again. We met in Estes Park for their engagement photos and enjoyed walking around Lily Lake and just having fun.

I loved the mysterious cowboy look Klas had going on.

Estes Park Engagement

Steve and I met Anji and Mike in Estes Park for their engagement photos. I love couples that smile and laugh a lot and Anji and Mike were so much fun to work with. We took a walk around the lake and stopped to take some photos here and there. Estes Park is so beautiful and I’m looking forward to their wedding at St Malo and the YMCA of the Rockies this fall.

Estes Park Wedding Reception

JSP brides and grooms are awesome. I love each and every couple. They come up with the best weddings that are full of love and fun. Nick and Amelia contacted me to photograph their wedding reception at Mary’s Lake Lodge in Estes Park. They had eloped in Hawaii (I still don’t know why they didn’t take me to Hawaii with them to photograph the ceremony) and were having a wedding reception in Estes Park with their families. Weddings with personal touches are my favorite and since Amelia’s heritage is Middle Eastern she really took advantage of this and created a unique celebration.

First some wedding portraits complimented by the stunning Estes Park scenery…

Amelia and Nick did a spectacular job decorating the Grand Room of Mary’s Lake Lodge. The fabric and bright colors created a wonderful atmosphere. Delilah’s of Denver provided the flowers and design.

No wedding cake for Nick and Amelia instead they had wedding baklava!

The henna on Amelia was beautiful.

Nick’s brother in law joined the Jason Boyer Jazz trio to play the trumpet.

I love a good spontaneous wedding toast.

And now the entertainment – A Belly Dancer! I have never been to a wedding with a belly dancer and I was so looking forward to photographing this.

When she pulled out the sword Nick joined in and balanced the sword quite well I must say.

Amelia changed into a party dress for the dancing and the pictures confirm everyone thought she looked beautiful.

Engagement season has begun…. Steve and I met Thad and Jill in Ft. Collins this weekend for a fun engagement photo session. I love getting to know my couples during their engagement session – and they always pick the prettiest places. Thad and Jill are getting married at Aspen Lodge for a gorgeous Estes Park wedding. I cannot wait to get them into the aspen groove there.

Engagement sessions are also opportunities to test out new gear. I was using my new Nikon 24-70 2.8 lens so lots of wide angle shot of beautiful Colorado landscapes. I’m liking how sharp and crisp this lens is…

I’m always open for input from the couple for fun photos. Thad wanted to jump so we got a bunch of funny images.

Della Terra Wedding Photos

I am so excited to finally post the gorgeous photos from Shurie and Tony’s elegant Della Terra wedding in Estes Park. We got so many fun images from their wedding it was impossible to narrow down to just a few. A couple favorites are here. The slideshow at the end will tell you more of their story.

I thought this image of Shurie’s mom helping her get ready was just beautiful.

And the helping hand balancing Shurie as she put her shoes on.

We got a bunch of tender moments between Shurie and several guests but this one with mom was the sweetest.

Pink Champagne! – it’s my favorite too…

I loved dad’s first look at his little girl.

I always try to follow my couple as they exit the ceremony. I get the most romantic photos this way. This is Tony and Shurie immediately after the ceremony.

Tony and Shurie had a horse and carriage take them away from the ceremony. The guests tossed Fall leaves as they passed.

I loved Shuries’ wedding cake from Colorado Rose Cakes. Shurie decided to display the cake up on Della Terra’s balcony.

On a side note, during this Estes Park wedding we encountered a wild pack of wedding crashers. We caught the herd in action before Shurie and Tony’s wedding. See how they are moving to the ceremony site, trying to blend in and thinking no one is noticing them.

Look at how they are brazenly trying to get inside for the reception….

If you have planned a Colorado wedding watch out for this wily bunch. But I supose if you have univited guests at your wedding these Estes Park residents aren’t so bad. Enjoy your day and watch the blog for more photos from this Della Terra wedding.

Lost Antler Ranch Engagement Preview

Lost Antler Ranch

As promised here are some photos from the open house at Lost Antler Ranch in Estes Park. Thank you to all of the brides that braved the weather to visit. It was a bit cool and foggy. I will return on a sunny day, I promise, but I still wanted to post the images from this weekend. We can never control the weather on your wedding but whatever mother nature gives us we can still get some lovely images. The fog added a bit of mystery and romance to Lost Antler Ranch and it was still a gorgeous spot for a wedding or retreat. Below is the wedding gazebo taken from the side so you can see the beautiful mountain lake. The Lake House is to the left out of the photo. The second photo is taken from the deck of the lake house where you see the little island in the center of the lake through the fog.

Inside the Lake House, here are photos of the yummy appetizers from Wildflower Catering. They do cakes too. Everything pulled together with a Spring butterfly theme.

You must see Lost Antler Ranch to truly get an idea of how gorgeous it is.
