When a place is beautiful for a wedding chances are it is also a great place to take engagement photos. And this weekend I was very grateful to Allison and Marc at Wild Basin Lodge in Allenspark for allowing us to use their gorgeous lodge and meadow for Karin and Dan’s engagement photos. It was a little windy and cold so having the cozy lodge with a roaring fireplace was very welcome – oh, and the hot cocoa helped too. But the winds didn’t last long and it turned into a breathtaking and warm afternoon. Steve and I had so much fun with Karin and Dan we cannot wait for their wedding. And I cannot wait to tell you the story behind the little chapel they chose for their wedding – but you have to wait until the Fall to get that story…
On to the images…
The happy family. Yes, I love them more because they brought Kona along. Kona was very instrumental in the actual engagement. Dan slipped the ring onto Kona’s collar for Karin to discover. So we had to have Kona join us.

Stealing time on Wild Basin‘s deck overlooking the river and mountains.

Dan’s assignment before the wedding is to practice whispering sweet nothings into Karin’s ear…

Karin and Dan were so cute twirling around on the deck in front of the river.

Kona just loved the snow. I think Karin and Dan are holding his head up because he just wanted to roll in the snow.

I loved this family portrait.

The light was getting dreamy.

Thank you for playing along and frolicking in the meadow. There are so many beautiful spots at Wild Basin.

Thank you Dan and Karin and thank you Wild Basin for a fun engagement session. Can’t wait for the wedding.
