Colorado Wedding and Portrait Photographer – Jennifer Schumacher Photography

I’ve been looking forward to sharing Adeel and Tania’s spectacular Pakistani wedding celebration with you.  Since this was a multi day event and I want to show you everything I will have to split this into multiple posts.  Today, the Mehndi party.   This event took place the night before the wedding.  It was an explosion of color, joy and happiness.  The mehndi party consists of blessings, henna application, dancing and dinner and both the bride and groom attend.

Before the party began, I got a couple photos as Tania got ready.

The stage is ready for the couple to arrive.

First, the groom arrives surrounded by his family and friends carrying a colorful scarf over his head.

After the groom’s ceremonies are complete the bride arrives surrounded by an even larger reception.

The guests approach the couple and offer blessings.

The henna is placed on a leaf and then applied to the hands later.

After the ceremony the dancing began…

It didn’t take long for Tania to join the dancing.

All I can say is wow!  I loved photographing Tania and Adeel’s wedding.  Watch the blog for the ceremony photos next week and a slideshow with even more of their wedding story.
