Last night we were concert photographers at our favorite music venue in Colorado the Wildflower Pavilion at Planet Bluegrass in Lyons. I love being a photojournalist and photographing action as it happens. Since I am photographing for Planet Bluegrass I’m not just photographing the band but I am looking for images that show off the venue and the experience.
The opening act was local Denver artist Ian Cooke. He entertained us with a mix of cello, keyboards and vocals. His dark and fascinating sound was truly mesmerizing.

I loved how this little boy just wondered up front.

The headliner was Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros – what an energetic and unique experience this was. I love the Wildflower pavilion because of the intimacy of the venue and this band was well suited for this stage. The show was a high energy and lively celebration that kept the crowd dancing throughout the show.

The lead singer hopped out into the crowd for one song.

Concerts at the Wildflower Pavilion (and Planet Bluegrass) are a special evening and a lot of fun. I’m always impressed with the variety and outstanding talents that perfom at Planet Bluegrass. Concerts at the Wildflower Pavilion are in the Fall and Spring only so go and look at the schedule – you don’t want to miss an evening at this wonderful concert venue.
